The Team Championship Series was contrived as a way for all the MVW's talent to be able to be in one arena on occasion without the massive circuit system getting in the way. Six wrestlers were chosen at random in January 1984 to choose teams of eight wrestlers from anywhere in the MVW.

Each match held at the Davey L. Whitney Complex was fought as part of the TCS. No titles were allowed to be defended at these cards. A pinfall victory scored three points for the winner's team. A submission victory scored two points. A countout or disqualification win scored one point.
